Portside's After School Arts Program awakens inner creativity, develops 21st century skills as well as builds self esteem and confidence. The Portside’s After School Arts Program introduces children to the fundamentals of arts education through a hands-on visual arts curriculum. Portside aligned their nine month program with the seven elements of arts; line, shape, form, value, space, color and texture. Students work through each segment building a strong foundation of visual arts skills, developmental skills and techniques.

Portside's ASAP allows students to experience many different art forms such as; drawing, painting, printmaking, clay sculpture, mosaic, fiber arts, puppetry, found object sculpture and more. Many lessons are formed around well-known artists allowing students to develop an appreciation for artists, art history and other cultures.
